Description of SeaPerch Regional
Competition Obstacle Course and
Mission Course

The obstacle course is the same each year.

At the regional competition, the courses may be placed in

the shallow end of the pool on the floor, rather than

suspending them.  The pool is approximately

3 1/2' to 4' deep, with a slight slope.

Technical Report

  • Each team must prepare a 5-page technical report.

    • This report should be based on the engineering notebook.​

    • This report was given a score of 95 out of 100. ​

  • This template can be helpful to educators and students to keep their engineering notebook organized during the season and to make sure that students are collecting all information they will need to write their technical report.

Engineering Design Process

  • A main purpose of the technical design report is to showcase the team's use of the Engineering Design Process (EDP).  This youtube video gives more information about the EDP and how it applies to SeaPerch.
